The 31 Crosstown was a lifeline for over 2,500 riders a day. This route connected residents in the neighborhoods of North & South Memphis to Midtown, and thus to jobs, health care, grocery stores and other routes that serve Downtown and East Memphis.
Together with the Amalgamated Transit Union Local 713 we are demanding access for historically segregated residents. Public transit is a civil right, and we must increase bus service for low income and minority residents to properly address racial and economic injustice in Memphis. Restore the 31!
